Favorite Blue Mic: Mouse and Blueberry
"We used both of these mics for all sorts of things on the latest album. The blueberry on most of the vocals and overdubs as well snare. It gives a great sizzle on the snare – no need for a bottom mic. The Mouse we used for vocals and we also found it fantastic for kick and snare – great low end and you can really ride the proximity effect and use it in a very natural way. Both great sounding, versatile mics! I’d already bought the mouse after trying a bunch of mics out at Blue HQ and I often take to other bands sessions I’m playing on. I heard the Blueberry in our producer’s studio for the first time and after using it there on so many vocals I had to have one for my home rig! There are still a fair few people in Australia that haven’t heard Blue mics in action but every session I take them to I find myself fielding questions about where to get one."

About
Aus indie pop maestros The Boat People made a foray onto the world stage in 2008 to a hailstorm of critical acclaim for their live shows and sophomore album Chandeliers (see reviews on following pages).
They’ve supported The Shins and David Byrne, played The Great Escape UK, CMJ Music Marathon NYC, toured the UK twice, shows in LA including the Viper Room, Spaceland and a live set on Morning Becomes Eclectic KCRW, won a CMJ grand prize, and gained rotation at over 20 radio stations across the US. In 2009 they returned to the US for their debut appearance at SXSW and further touring before beginning work on their third album ‘Dear Darkly’ – to be released in 2010.
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD - 4 STARS
"This is a second album carefully balanced between the sheer pleasure of pop music and the wit of smart song writing. Chandeliers songs have a casual elegance and a droll eye but they are subordinate to what feels like real emotion, meaty playing and tunes that constantly entertain. The Boat People are the real deal". (Bernard Zuel)
MESS AND NOISE
"A genuinely great Australian pop album that can comfortably stand alongside acknowledged classics like Woodface, Granddance or 16 Lover's Lane...superb mature pop music, as good as anything you will hear in this genre this year. International recognition beckons".
