About
Scott Humphrey is a Canadian born, American record producer; mix engineer, songwriter, musician and digital recording pioneer. Humphrey is best known for his work with multiplatinum recording artist Rob Zombie and has co-written, produced and mixed all of his records including Hellbilly Deluxe (1998), The Sinister Urge (2001) and Educated Horses (2006). He was also Rob Zombie's co-composer for the score to Zombie's film House Of 1000 Corpses.
He is also widely known for his producing, engineering, mixing, remixing, and digital audio skills with Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Fuel, Crystal Method, Bonjovi, Methods of Mayhem, BT, Monster Magnet, Tommy Lee, Ozzy Osbourne, Day Of Fire, Powerman 500, Skid Row, The Cult, Coal Chamber, Andrew WK, Spineshank, and many more.
Scott has been nominated for numerous Grammy awards and won a Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year for the self titled, debut album from “Day Of Fire” (2004)
A technical visionary as well, Humphrey is credited by Digidesign’s chief sonic software architect Mark Jeffery as being the one who conceptualized and motivated him to write Beat Detective, Batch Crossfades, Sound Replacer and many other features in the industry standard DAW, Pro Tools in the early-1990’s
Humphrey was also the co-founder of Artist 2 Market Distribution (2004), which provided artists with an innovative direct to retail solution while retaining complete ownership of their master recordings. A2M achieved a number 1 single with Tracy Lawrence with the hit song “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” (2007). Rocket Science acquired Artist 2 Market in 2009.
He is the founder of the groundbreaking application “Jammit” that utilizes the master recordings from some of the most successful artist in the music industry. Featured artists include Alice Cooper, Foreigner, No Doubt, Nickelback, Sum 41, Godsmack and many more. Jammit made its debut at the 2010 Winter NAMM convention in Anaheim California and won the “Best Gadget” award.
Scott is also the founder of ThePublicRecord.com an interactive music site that gives its members unique access to collaborate with many different world-renowned feature artists. TPR has been featured on CNBC, Fortune Magazine and numerous other industry and sites and publications.
